                                       FAQs

What do you make?
We make it all! Cakes, cupcakes, cookies, macarons, chocolate covered treats, whatever your heart desires! Any item can be designed and curated to fit your specific theme or aesthetic. Check out our Menu and Pricing page to find flavors and options!

How far in advance do I need to book my order?
The sooner the better! At Sammie Cakes we recommend placing your order 3-6 weeks in advance at least. We can occasionally accommodate rush orders placed within a weeks notice, (time allowing), for an additional fee.

What Kind of cakes do you make? Are they fondant?
No! All of our cakes are made with our signature buttercream. We specialize in simple, elegant cakes that max out at 2 tiers and 10," ( a max of 60 servings). Fondant and edible images can occasionally be used as accent pieces for themes, but we do not offer full fondant or novelty cakes.

Do you deliver?
Yes! Delivery starts at $30 for any distance under 15 miles from us. Additional mileage will be calculated and charged for accordingly. Delivery must be requested with the initial order inquiry, and all orders are considered pick up unless otherwise specified.

How do I transport my cake?
For pick up orders, we recommend transporting your cakes in the car on a FLAT surface, (the floor), with your AC turned on. Holding it in your lap may *seem* safer, but is actually a lot more unstable and likely to damage your goodies.

How do I store my treats after pick up?

Cake/Cupcakes/Macarons:
We do not recommend leaving cakes or cupcakes out of the refrigerator for more than 2 hours. Refrigeration will ensure your icing doesn't melt and the cake maintains it's moisture! Once your cake is cut we recommend placing the rest in an airtight container in the fridge to get the longest shelf life possible. If you want to make it REALLY go the distance you can even freeze it!
Cookies/chocolate covered items
Cookies etc can be stored in an air tight container and saved for 1-2 weeks. (Use your judgement here!) Anything with fruit inside should be refrigerated and eaten promptly for the best results.
